Didn't you do a Harry Potter quiz previously? 

We did indeed - over 120 Potterheads attended for an awesome evening back in July 2025. 

Will it be the same questions?

The quiz will be different content to the previous Harry Potter quiz we hosted - if you came last time, don't worry, it will be an entirely new quiz.

Who are you guys and what do you know about quiz hosting and Harry Potter?

We are Adam and Helen of AH! Quiz Time. We were established in 2023 and have hosted 150+ official quizzes to date. We are huge Harry Potter fans (Helen especially), so this is a quiz we have a genuine passion and interest in!

How easy / hard will the quiz be?

Possibly the most difficult question to answer, as everything is subjective (as is the case in any quiz)! The age old "it's easy if you know the answer" applies.

However, we have done our best to design the quiz in such a way that the more casual fans will score points, with a mix of more challenging questions to really test the hardcore Potterheads. A number of questions have "bonus points" attached to them, so that the first part should be accessible to most, but the bonus element is that much harder to really set the teams apart!

If you are yet to pass your O.W.Ls or your N.E.W.Ts don't worry!

Is it suitable for all? I have little ones and/or those not hugely into Harry Potter.

As per above, the difficulty is varying, but it is certainly "child friendly", both in the quiz content itself and also the presentation on the night i.e. no rude words on our part.

Regarding licensing for little ones - as long as they are sat and well behaved they are more than welcome. 

Everyone is welcome regardless of team size, level of knowledge, age etc!

Can I dress up?

Absolutely - in fact, we encourage it! However, if that's not your thing, feel free to wear your regular muggle clothing - whatever you are most comfortable doing. Please note that this is hosted in a publicly accessible pub, so there will be non quizzers there.

Is there a minimum or maximum team size?

Short answer is no - but please contact the pub asap if you are likely to be a particularly large team, so that they can accommodate you.

Is it a spelling test?

There are lots of weird and wonderful spellings in the wizarding world. As such it is NOT a spelling test and you will not be docked points, for example, misspelling "Wingardium Leviosa". Although Hermione might pick you up on your pronunciation!

Can I check your quizzes out ahead of time?

You certainly can! Details of all our upcoming events and how to book can be found here.

Can I take photos?

Absolutely - snap away! We will also be taking photos for our social media and website. Rest assured we will be blurring all faces ahead of any uploads, to protect your personal privacy.

How much are tickets?

Tickets are £3pp, payable in cash, on the night. Please note that we do not take card payments. The pub however does accept card for food and/or drink.

How many teams are likely to attend?

Hard to give an exact answer. Last quiz was 120+. The Crocodile can sit up to 18 teams, circa 90 people. Based on previous turnout, we suggest prompt booking to guarantee your table.

Is there food available?

Yes, The Crocodile is a McMullens pub and the food menu is on their website.
